Constructed in 1986, The Lotus Temple is a pride of the Baha’i community, being one of the seven Baha’i Houses of Worship all over the world, The other six Baha’i Houses are located in Sydney (Australia), Panama City (Panama), Apia (West Samoa), Kampala (Uganda), Frankfurt (Germany), and Willamette (USA). It was designed by Fariborz was awarded several laurels for his exceptional architectural design. The laurels included– award for excellence in religious art and architecture by the UK-based Institution of Structural Engineers; award for “Excellence in Religious Art and Architecture” by Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art and Architecture, Affiliate of the American Institute of Architects, Washington, D.C.; amongst many more.
