Sunder nursery, located adjacent to Humayun’s Tomb, is a heritage park listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in the 16th century, the park was reopened to public in February 2018 after renovations. It contains over 300 types of trees, making it Delhi’s first arboretum.

Six structures within the Sundar Nursery have UNESCO World Heritage Site status – Sunder Burj, Sundarwala Mahal, Lakkarwala Burj, Mirza Muazzafar Hussain’s Tomb, Chotta Bateshewala and the Unknown Mughal’s tomb.

Flora and Fauna:

The area contains over 280 species of trees, over 80 species of birds and 36 species of butterflies. The trees range from Amrood and Shisham to some exotic species like Siala, Brazilian Ironwood and Whistling Pine, and a large variety of roses. It’s a great place for birdwatching as it has some really interesting and rare species like the Indian Silverbill, the Laughing Dove and so many more.

Cafe:

Sunder Nursery has a lake-side cafe called Fabcafe, where you can sit and have your meal or take it away to eat it by the lake or anywhere else you want. The cafe is open from 8 am to 6 pm and has the perfect ambience for a fulfilling meal.
