Weekend Guide June 16 - June 18
The weekend is a cherished time, a brief respite from work demands and responsibilities. It’s a chance to unwind, rejuvenate, and engage in activities that bring joy and fun.
We listed a few events happening in Delhi this weekend.
The Babu & The Bazaar
In this exhibition, watercolour pats—both religious and secular in their subjects—are placed against comparable works across the genres of commissioned oil painting and mass-produced prints. By exposing iconography, they attempt to unravel part of Calcutta’s history, its culture, class biases and gendered hierarchies. The artworks in the exhibition over one hundred years old are registered historical artefacts, and will not be exported from India.

Chakravyuh featuring Nitish Bharadwaj as Krishna
Chakravyuh is the story of the thirteenth day of the great battle of Mahabharata. This play does not confine Chakravyuh to just a war-craft, and instead, it takes it to a level of a complete philosophy. It explores the episode of Abhminayu’s death in Chakravyuh formation and all the questions, myths, ideologies and convictions related to it. Written and performed in the form of verses, this play works as a bridge between history and present. It also connects them with concepts of Karma and Dharma.
