Total curfew from tonight till next Monday morning: Delhi Govt

Date

The National Capital will be put under a week-long total curfew starting tonight till next Monday morning as has been decided after CM Arvind Kejriwal met with LG Anil Baijal this morning. The decision comes at a desperate time when CoVid positivity rate in the city is at a 30% high. Over 167 deaths were recorded in the city on Saturday.

All private offices will work from home and only essential services will be operating. Till 26th of April, Delhi will be under a complete curfew, following a weekend curfew that the government had earlier imposed. The CM had also emphasized on an availability of hospital beds; the accessibility of resources now, however, seems ambiguous as CoVid cases rise rapidly.

“The situation is very serious and worrisome. Cases have gone up really fast. That is why we are facing shortages even though everything seemed under control until a few days ago. But the speed at which this corona is growing, no one knows where its peak will be,” said Kejriwal in a virtual address on Saturday.
