The construction of the Jamali Kamali Tomb & Mosque was started in 1528 and completed in 1529. This monument is related to two people, Jamali and Kamali. Jamali was born in a merchant family. Later on, he became a disciple of a Sufi saint. He was also a very popular poet of that time. ‘The Sun and Moon’, as well as The spiritual journey of the mystics’, are some of his very famous works. Historians are not able to find out information about Kamali. There is a legend that both of them were deeply in love with each other. Kamali died earlier and Jamali died in 1535. Jamali is buried near the tomb of Kamali. Thus people say that they were not united when alive, but their love was true and they became one after their death.
The mosque was made with red sandstone and marble. In the prayer hall, there are five arches. On the top of the central arch rises a high dome. If we talk about the tomb. Then the tombs of Jamali and Kamali are painted in red and blue. It is a square structure and has a flat roof. The verses of the Quran increase its beauty. Near the tomb there used to be a very beautiful garden. The mosque consists of a large courtyard. One should definitely visit these monuments, it will be a great and memorable experience.
