Subko Opens Its Delhi Flagship at LoCol, Lodhi Colony

Finally, Delhi has its own Subko flagship and it feels right at home. Located at LoCol (short for Lodhi Colony) and tucked into the bylanes of the neighbourhood, Subko’s Delhi outpost is housed inside a heritage structure that mirrors the brand’s design language seen in Mumbai and Bengaluru.

There’s a sense of déjà vu when you walk in almost like Bandra transplanted into Delhi. Familiar yet local, the space reflects Subko’s belief in craft driven experiences rooted in ingredients, process and purpose. As the brand puts it, this is part of an unspoken movement where global concepts take shape through local and original sensibilities.

The Space

A heritage home for specialty coffee

Set within an old structure in Lodhi Colony, Subko’s Delhi flagship blends history, design and neighbourhood culture. The building itself becomes part of the experience offering quiet corners, layered storytelling and a sense of continuity with its surroundings.

The space doesn’t feel designed to impress instantly. Instead, it unfolds slowly rewarding those who take the time to look around, read and sit.

The Ground Floor

Coffee. Chocolate. Quick bites.

The ground floor brings together Subko’s core offerings in a format that balances efficiency with craft.

Jaldi! is the grab and go counter for coffee and bakehouse items
Dukaan is the retail section stocking speciality coffee beans, craft bread and Subko merchandise
Cacao Cellar showcases Subko’s pod to bar chocolates made in house using fine cacao sourced from farms across the subcontinent with new gifting options
Taiyyar is the ready to go fridge featuring chilled and canned speciality coffee beverages

This level is built for everyday visits quick stops and familiar rituals.

Upstairs Stories

Designed as discoveries

Upstairs is where Subko leans into localisation and storytelling. A small outdoor zone features a mural reading Sultanate of Specialty in Gurmukhi setting the tone for what follows.

Inside the dine in area is divided into sections designed as discoveries rather than rooms. The Locolities Wall maps the boroughs that make up New Delhi’s cultural fabric. The Raw Materials Room highlights the ingredients and labour behind Subko’s offerings. LoCol Meri Jaan walks visitors through the layered history of Lodhi Colony from past to present. There is also a Design DNA Wall that narrates Subko’s design philosophy across cities.

Each element encourages visitors to slow down and engage beyond the menu.

The Cultural Core

Diwan i Khaas

At the heart of the space is the Diwan i Khaas, a modern Mughal inspired mezzanine with floor seating. Designed for conversations, screenings and community baithaks, this area reinforces Subko’s focus on coffee as a social and cultural connector rather than a transactional experience.

Coffee Without Borders

Sourced across the subcontinent and beyond

Subko’s coffee sourcing spans Arabica, Robusta and Excelsa varieties from India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Nepal and Myanmar. Roasted in small batches, the emphasis is on nuance, balance and transparency of flavour rather than uniformity.

The menu remains largely standardised across India ensuring consistency while allowing the space itself to carry local identity.

What to Order

Signature espresso based drinks include the Honey Cappuccino, Coco Nolen Gur Flat White and Vietnamese Flat White. Subko’s take on South Indian filter coffee appears as the popular SIF on the Rocks.

For those looking beyond coffee, options include Cascara Lemonade, Cascara Tonic and Subko Lavender Brew. Drinking chocolate lovers can opt for rich cups finished with housemade podi for a subtle hint of spice.

Delhi also marks the debut of Subko’s matcha menu, made with J2 ceremonial grade matcha using shade grown Tencha leaves sourced from Shizuoka, Japan. Offerings include Matchacchino, Vietnamese Matcha, Tender Coconut Matcha and Matcha Strawbs and Cream.

More Than a Café. A Cultural Address.

Subko’s Delhi flagship is not just another café opening. It is a space where coffee meets craft, history and community. Rooted in Lodhi Colony yet connected to a wider craft movement, it offers Delhi a place to pause, read, taste and gather.
