A severe heat wave swept over Delhi on Wednesday, which was the hottest day of 2021 so far. June 30th recorded a soaring temperature of 43-degree Celsius, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The situation might slightly improve on July 2 and 3, due to light rain. Weather is expected to get favourable by July 7 as monsoon advances into the Delhi-NCR region.
The maximum temperature recorded in different parts of the city remained at least 7 degrees Celsius above the average temperature, says IMD.
It is advisable to stay at home and take precautions against the possibility of a heatstroke. Keep your heads covered and hydrate yourself with cool drinks and juices to fight against prolonged exposure to heat which can lead to dangerous diseases.
