Leander Adrian Paes

Leander Adrian Paes was born to Goan parents and is an Indian male tennis professional player. He is regarded as one of the greatest tennis players in doubles, also holds the highest records for most double wins in the prestigious Davis Cup and has achieved the rare men’s doubles/mixed doubles at the 1999 Wimbledon championship. 

Remo Fernandez 

Remo Fernandez is a prominent Goan pop/rock/Indian fusion star and playback Bollywood singer. His discography includes songs like ‘Pyaar to hona hi tha’ and ‘Ek hogye hum or tum’. His most memorable work is the song ‘India, I Cry’ (2009)  and ‘India Against Corruption’ in support of the 2011 Anna Hazare movement of the same name. In 2011, his popularity led him to be approached by the Election Commission of India to be their Youth icon for Ethical voting in Goa. “Vote: Tit for Tat” was composed by him to encourage the Goans to vote out corrupt ministers.

Damodar Dharmanand Kosambi 

Damodar Dharmanand Kosambi or commonly known as D.D. Kosambi was an Indian historian, mathematician, physicist, Marxist philosopher, numismatist, peace activist and renowned Indologist. He is famous for his theories of Marxist application and feudalism from below and feudalism from above.

Reita Faria Powell

Reita Faria is the wonder woman who brought the crown of Miss World to India for the first time. She is also a practising physician. Reita became the first Asian woman ever to win a beauty contest in the 1966 pageant. She is also the first Miss World winner to be qualified as a physician.
