Delhipedia’s Heritage Walk in Old Delhi

Date

Our heritage walk in Old Delhi began early in the morning with a bunch of enthusiastic faces ready to explore the city with us. The Pre-Shahjahanabad Period focused on the history of Old Delhi before the establishment of Shah Jahan’s capital in Delhi. We walked through small alleyways visiting places of historical importance that have been forgotten and ignored, now lying in a saddening state. We interacted with locals and heard their stories about their time in this oldest living city. The walk ended on a sweet note with the local delicacy of Old Delhi being served to the walkers. We hope our participants were able to take back a lot of interesting stories and their love for the city grew more fondly.
