Akshay Kumar – The Khiladi
Who wouldn’t have heard about Akshay Kumar? He is a renowned film artist who has won international appreciations as well. Ever gave a thought about his struggle to become an actor? He was born in Punjab but was raised in the famous Chandni Chowk area in Delhi. He was born on 9th September, 1967 to Hari Om Bhatia and Aruna Bhatia in Delhi. His father was in military which gave him a chance to travel to different places. He lived in Chandni Chowk in Delhi till he was three years old. He moved to Mumbai and did his schooling from Don Bosco. He later on went to Bangkok to learn martial arts. He is a black belt holder in Taekwondo. He worked as a chef and waiter in Bangkok before he became an actor. It wasn’t easy to get into films as he didn’t possess any film background. He was exposed to modelling and since then there was no looking back. He was first casted in the movie Deedar, however, the movie took time to release. His movie Khiladi was a commercial success and his performance was well appreciated. He initially preferred action movies and slowly moved to romance to comedy. His movie “Yeh Dillagi” where he was paired with Kajol, won him nomination for best actor. Hera Pheri was a box-hit success where one can get to see the comedy side of Akshay Kumar. He was a supporting actor in Dil to pagal Hai and was nominated in Filmfare awards as well. He has worked in more than 100 movies which has earned him a huge fan following base. He is a fitness freak and tries out all the forms of exercise. He follows discipline strictly i life and that could be one major reason for his success. He was invited for the Olympics torch-bearer rally to Canada. He received honor of Katana from the Japanese Government.
