A Royal Evening of Art & Heritage: Kishangarh Legacy Comes Alive in Delhi
On the evening of May 29th, 2025, Delhipedia had the honour of attending an exclusive and truly regal art gathering hosted at the Arts Room, Eldeco Centre, Malviya Nagar. Titled as more than just an exhibition, this private viewing and discussion brought together stalwarts from the world of art and history under one roof — uniting legacy with lived experience.
The event was hosted by Princess Vaishnavi Kumari of Kishangarh and Navneet Randhawa, who jointly created an intimate setting for meaningful dialogue around heritage and creativity. The evening stood out not only for its curation of artworks but for the quality of conversation that unfolded in the presence of distinguished guests.
In attendance was Maharaja Brajraj Singh Bahadur of Kishangarh, whose family legacy is deeply tied to one of India’s most iconic miniature painting schools. Accompanying him on the panel was renowned art historian Kishore Singh, who helped contextualize the significance of Kishangarh’s artistic tradition in modern India. The discussion, gracefully moderated by Navneet Randhawa, was both reflective and inspiring.
Princess Vaishnavi Kumari’s insights offered a rare personal perspective into the preservation of art as both a family responsibility and a cultural imperative. The exchange between the guests was not only scholarly but deeply heartfelt, creating a bridge between past and present.
Held in the cozy yet elegant setting of the Arts Room at Eldeco Centre, the evening invited a carefully selected audience to witness artworks, stories, and ideas that rarely find themselves in such close quarters. From Kishangarh’s legendary “Bani Thani” portraiture to questions around the future of heritage conservation — the event had both artistic and intellectual depth.
As a platform that celebrates the soul of Delhi, Delhipedia was proud to be present at this unique convergence of royalty, scholarship, and art. Events like these remind us that the past is never truly gone — it lives on through storytelling, preservation, and shared cultural experience.
