Harmony: A Century-Spanning Celebration of Indian Art at Bikaner House
A Grand Artistic Unveiling in New Delhi
The grandeur of Indian art unfolded at Bikaner House, LTC Hall, as Gallery Silver Scapes unveiled “Harmony,” a monumental art exhibition bridging 100 years of Indian artistry. This prestigious showcase masterfully connected the timeless legacy of modern masters with the avant-garde spirit of contemporary artists, offering a compelling dialogue between tradition and innovation.

A Star-Studded VIP Preview
The exhibition’s exclusive VIP preview was graced by distinguished personalities, including the Hon’ble Former Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi; Ambassador H.E. Juan Angulo; Lady Mohini Noon; Indrajit Mukherjee; and celebrated artists Sakti Burman and Samar Jodha. Adding to the evening’s significance was the launch of a comprehensive book on the life and works of Shri Bimal Das Gupta, further cementing the exhibition’s commitment to honoring artistic excellence.

A Fusion of Modern and Contemporary Art
Curated by Vikram Mayor, the exhibition presents an eclectic collection of approximately 100 artworks, celebrating the fusion of modern and contemporary art. It brings together revered pioneers such as Jamini Roy, AA Almelkar, and Suhas Roy, alongside modern legends including Bimal Das Gupta, F.N. Souza, S.H. Raza, and Akbar Padamsee. The exhibition also shines a light on undervalued masters, with special recognition for Anita Roy Chowdhury, one of India’s pioneering women abstractionists.
Showcasing India’s Artistic Visionaries
In addition to this rich tapestry, the showcase also includes senior contemporary visionaries including Kashmiri Khosa, Jatin Das, Manu Parekh, Thota Vaikuntam, Paresh Maity, Sanjay Bhattacharya, and Vinod Sharma to name a few. In order to honor undervalued masters, the spotlight was on Anita Roy Chowdhury, one of India’s pioneering lady abstractionists.
Complementing their presence, emerging talents like Shanaka Kulathunga, Anurag Anand, and Chaitali Chandra have been given a rare opportunity to display their work alongside these esteemed figures, reinforcing the exhibition’s theme of artistic coexistence and evolution.
