Located in South Delhi the park is called Deer Park because it is home to a large number of deer that live inside the park. There is a large enclosure in the park for deer to roam around in, it is a great place for kids, as it allows them to see and experience how the deer live, first-hand. The park is also named after the famous social worker Aditya Nath Jha and therefore is referred to as A. N. Jha Deer Park.
Deer park is popular for walking, jogging and weekend outings. There are many smaller enclosures to this park such as Duck Park, Picnic spot, rabbit Enclosures etc. The Park also has historical tombs of the Mughal Era. The Deer Park along with the connected District Park to make up one of the largest green areas in New Delhi, sometimes collectively called “the lungs of Delhi”.
The Park has four different sections which are; Rose Garden, Deer Park, Fountain & District Park, Old Monuments and Hauz Khas Art Market. It is hard to believe such a large park exists in the heart of Delhi. An interesting restaurant Park Baluchi is also located within the park and is a great place to spend the day.
