Amid the spike in Covid Cases in Delhi, the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has started its langar sewa again from Tuesday, this time delivering to patients and families of patients in home quarantine.

The DSGMC president Manjinder Singh Sirsa said in a statement, “We are delivering food to families who have been tested COVID-19 positive and are unable to cook or arrange food for themselves. Nutritious, healthy and tasty food is being packed for such families, and the teams delivering food packets are using PPE kits and other safety wears.”

Apart from families of covid patients, the committee has decided to provide food to poor families who are finding it difficult to mange food, like those of the migrant workers. The committee has launched many helpline numbers that the patients, their families, and anyone in need can use to call for help and home delivery of food.

According to Mr. Sirsa, they are prepared to provide food for upto 2 lakh people in need everyday, saying “Be it 1 lakh or 2 lakh, we are ready to serve langar to as many people on a daily basis and have started our preparations accordingly.”
