Amidst the Coronavirus crisis, Delhiites are facing the toughest situation of the year. With all this negative news spreading across the media, the list of the World’s best cities of 2021 brings a slight smile to a few faces.
In the ranking done by Resonance Consultancy Limited, Delhi moved from the 81st position in 2019 to the 62nd position in the list. Apart from Delhi, the others in the World’s best cities list are London, Paris, Tokyo, Dubai, Barcelona, Singapore, and others.
Resonance Consultancy claimed that it ranked the World’s best cities with a population of more than a million utilizing the “qualitative evaluations and the combination of statistical performance”. All this was done with the help of locals and visitors in 25 areas grouped into six main categories.
All these 100 cities were ranked on the basis of diversity, weather, tourist attractions, parks, check-ins, and the number of social media hashtags along with other things. Factors like Covid-19 infections as of July, income incongruity, and unemployment were also the major factors for ranking.
What the Chief minister has to say?
When Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted about this, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal retweeted his tweet and said, ” Such good news for all Dilliwalas. All Dilliwalas have worked so hard in the last six years to make it happen. The world is noticing the positive changes happening in Delhi.”
