4 Places in Delhi you must visit to experience the Beauty of Nature | Earth Day 2022

Date

Once a forest-laden land, Delhi grew into a metropolis owing to the people it was ruled by. However, Delhi still has many beautiful natural and manmade parks and places with natural vegetation and forest cover. Here are four places in Delhi you must visit to experience the beauty of nature:

Lodi Gardens

Refurbished and landscaped by Lady Willingdon, the wife of Marquess of Willingdon (the then Governor-General of India), Lodi Gardens is one of the florally richest areas in the capital with over 50 species of butterflies and birds and 100 plus species of trees in this park. It also has a very unique and exquisite National Bonsai Park.

Buddha Jayanti Park

Built to commemorate the 2,500th birth anniversary of Lord Buddha, it was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Ex-Prime Minister of India, Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri by planting a sapling of the “Holy Bodhi tree” on 25th October 1964. This statue is installed on an island in the waterway system and placed on a square platform surrounded by a circular stone fence and a circumambulatory path, called Parikrama. It houses a vibrant ecosystem of more than 100 types of trees and 40 shrubs species.

Garden of Five Senses

Inaugurated in 2003, Garden of Five Senses is a truly sensory experience for all its visitors to appreciate the beauty and colours of nature. A state of art meets the glories of nature at Garden of Five Senses with attractions like an expansive plaza, a troop of stone cut elephants, Khas Bagh, and Trail of Fragrance, amongst others.

Nehru Park

One of the most prominent landmarks in the city, Nehru Park consists of extensive well-curated lawns with beautiful summer blooms and greenery, making it a perfect picnic spot for family and friends.
